I'm going to make a YouTube video about the history of the Mii fandom. I want to get a sample of everyone's experiences, especially if you've been a Mii fan for a long time. Please share your experiences or any memorable things you've come across in this thread!

I'm a pretty young Mii series fan, so I don't know too much about the broader Mii fandom. I did play Miitomo a bit when it first came out, but I had no idea what is was about.

I do specifically remember how massive Tomodachi Life was when it released, and how Miitopia made far less of an impact. I think the Switch version was a bit of a sleeper hit, and I think Failboat (and me lol) was the only one to be excited about the Switch version - though the demo and the insane Makeup creations did convince a lot of people to play it.

I also remember the Sportsmates being pretty hated, and Nintendo Switch Sports itself being disliked.

I remember Poofesure shot a lot of random CPU Miis (namely Abby, Elisa and Lucia) into the spotlight. Before that, people would only really meme about Matt. I feel like that guy single-handedly revived the Wii Party fanbase lol.

I remember when Mii Gunner got her Sans costume, and it seemed like everyone played Mii Gunner for the memes, but some of them saw the light and realized that Mii Gunner is actually really fun. I also remember when Mii Brawler started to be seen as a legitimate high tier in Smash Ultimate. I do also remember when Mii Swordfighter had a zero-to-death discovered. I was never a Mii Swordfighter believer, but I guess they went from one of the worst characters in the game to kinda okay maybe. I'm still waiting for some insane Mii Gunner tech to be discovered.

I think in general the Mii fanbase is more vocal than ever, probably since Miis are in a weird spot of being underused by Nintendo, but popping up enough to still be relevant. Being the star of one of the best selling games might also help. Still a pretty niche fanbase, but I see a lot of activity in it.
